Home Sweet Home
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have put in an offer to buy the Saperstein Estate in Holmby Hills, after spending the past three months house hunting in California.
The palatial pad has reportedly been on the market for months at a whopping $125 million (£83.3 million). It is not known what Carey and Cannon are paying for the place.
The French Chateau-style mansion was bought by David and Suzanne Saperstein in the early 1990s. The former society couple spent five years renovating the home, which they dubbed Fleur de Lys.
Reports suggest the mansion has become a mini-palace with Italian marble walls, French limestone floors, gold-embossed leather wall coverings and gold-leaf crowned mouldings.
The lavish home features a ballroom with ceiling frescoes, a library with a first-edition book collection, two kitchens and a screening room with seating for 50. There's also a three-bedroom manager’s house, staff quarters for 10, a nine-car garage and even a private jogging track.
A source close to Carey and Cannon, who wed at the pop superstar's Bahamas home in Eleuthera last April (08), says, "They like the home because there's so little that needs doing to it."

The Saint & The Sinner
Kim Kardashian and her man Reggie Bush recently did their first photoshoot as a couple for GQ magazine which is on stands now! Kim and Reggie dish about how they met, what they fight about and just exactly how they work so well together!
How’d you two meet?
Kim: Matt Leinart [quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals] was dating a friend of mine, Paris Hilton. I went to the ESPY Awards withmy stepdad, and Matt was sitting with Reggie. The rest is history.
Reggie, had you been encouraging Leinart to in troduce you two?
Reggie: No, I’d never seen Kim before the ESPY Awards. After that, I started inquiring.I bet. Having a famous girlfriend is a good way to get heat from fans, though. Just ask Tony Romo.
Reggie: They want to put the blame on somebody, because it couldn’t possibly be the team’s fault. It has to be because we’re in this Hollywood relationship. Which is absolute bullshit. I think, as a man, as a football athlete—that’s how I make my money, that’s what we train for all year—I could never stand for that. A loss has nothing to do with Kim, or Jessica Simpson. If we lose a game, it’s because we didn’t make enough plays.Enough niceties—I gotta hear some pet peeves.
Kim: Oh, my God, Reggie is the slowest person anyone will ever encounter. I don’t understand how he’s so fast on the field. He’s like a slug!
Reggie?
Reggie: She always feels rushed. It basically trickles down to her having an attitude. So we get into little arguments.Kim: If he makes me late, it makes me have an attitude. This morning, on the way to the photo shoot, he wanted to drive together, but—
Reggie: Whoa, whoa, whoa! I did not want to drive together. I told you to go by yourself, and you wanted to wait for me. There were ants in the bathroom this morning, and I was like, “Babe, can you grab the Raid to spray these ants?” She was like, “I don’t have time for that!”
That sounds normal enough, but here’s what people can’t fathom: Reggie was a star at USC, a campus crawling with the best-looking girls in America. Kim, you’ve been married before, and have a sex tape. How do you guys get over the past?
Reggie: We don’t talk about it, and we don’t think about it. With Kim, and with anybody in life, it’s not my place to judge, no matter what they’ve done—good, bad, or indifferent. I was a friend to her when she needed one, and we ended up talking, and everything worked out.
Kim: At first we had our friends saying crazy things—all the reasons that we shouldn’t date each other. We didn’t listen.By the way, how’d your first-ever joint photo shoot go?
Reggie: I already know I’m going to catch hell from my boys and my teammates. They love to talk trash and post up pictures in the locker room. But you gotta take these opportunities as they come, man, because when you’re old and you don’t got it anymore— Kim: When you’re not hot…
Reggie: …you’re going to wish you did that.

The REAL Barbie Malibu House
On the eve of her 50th birthday, interior decorator Jonathan Adler has decked out a real-life 3,500 square foot place overlooking the Pacific Ocean to look like the blond doll's outrageous home.
Adler, who was commissioned by toy maker Mattel Inc. to decorate the house for a star-studded birthday party on Monday, said outfitting the sleek mansion (a property that's frequently rented for film and photography shoots) took six months of planning and a few weeks to install.
"Barbie was a dream client because she doesn't exist as a person," Adler said. "She exists as fantasy and is the perfect client because she's always happy and fun and loves everything. I thought to myself, 'How would Barbie live?' What I thought was (that) Barbie would have a house that is glamorous, kittenish, chic, colorful and happy — as well as functional."
Adler lined Barbie's bedroom with wall-to-wall pink carpeting emblazoned with her initial. The closet is filled with 50 pairs of pink peep-toe heels while her kitchen is stocked with cupcake-making ingredients. An in-house museum features 25 vintage Barbie dolls on display. In the garage? A pink Volkswagen New Beetle with a motorized pop-up vanity in the trunk.
"I think this really is Barbie's Malibu Dream House because the setting is so incredibly dreamy and ethereal," Adler said. "We're perched on a cliff in Malibu overlooking the ocean. It's a fantasyland for anyone. It was difficult to find the house to celebrate Barbie's 50th birthday because it had to be the ultimate Malibu house, and I think we found it."
Adler's favorite furnishings are hanging in the living room: an original Andy Warhol portrait of Barbie valued at over $200,000 and a chandelier — designed by "Project Runway" contestant Chris March — that's made up of over 30 blond wigs and took more than 60 hours to craft. Adler also admires a one-of-a-kind black-and-white wall mirror created with 64 dolls.
"Ken's around, but does she need Ken?" said Adler. "No."
